I am a Textile Artist living in East Devon. I hold workshops at many venues throughout the West of England, including The Embroiderer’s Guild, shops and West Country Embroiderers. I also travel to teach all over the UK in residential colleges.
I enjoy private commissions and am happy to discuss clients personal preferences, sources of inspiration and colour schemes.
Inspiration for my current body of work comes from two completely different sources, my many trips to India which provide wonderful, rich patterns and colour. For this I use the sewing machine, hand embroidery and embellishing with beads and sequins. I also enjoy photographing and studying flora to translate into my felted pieces. For this I work mainly on a dry felting machine (Embellisher) and use the sewing machine to give fine detail and to finish the work. These are often made into functional pieces such as bags and garments.
